NGC 4165 (also IC 3035, MCG 2-31-45, UGC 7201 and PGC 38885) is a magnitude +13.5 barred spiral galaxy located 85 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 8th April 1866. The galaxy was rediscovered by Arnold Schwassmann in November 1900 and relisted as IC 3035.
