NGC 3440 (also IRAS 10508+5722, MCG 10-16-19, UGC 6009 and PGC 32714) is a magnitude +13.2 spiral galaxy located 87 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 8th April 1793.
