NGC 3238 (also MCG 10-15-80, UGC 5649 and PGC 30686) is a magnitude +12.9 face-on spiral galaxy located 339 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 8th April 1793.
