NGC 5145 (also IRAS 13230+4331, MCG 7-28-9, UGC 8439 and PGC 46934) is a magnitude +12.8 spiral galaxy located 56 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 9th April 1787.
