NGC 5123 (also IRAS 13209+4320, MCG 7-28-5, UGC 8415 and PGC 46767) is a magnitude +12.8 face-on spiral galaxy located 380 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 9th April 1787.
