NGC 5003 (also MCG 7-27-33, UGC 8228 and PGC 45559) is a magnitude +14.3 spiral galaxy located 490 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 9th April 1787.
