NGC 4043 (also IRAS 11597+0437, MCG 1-31-12, UGC 7015 and PGC 38010) is a magnitude +13.6 face-on spiral galaxy located 297 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 9th April 1828.
