NGC 5424 (also MCG 2-36-19, UGC 8956 and PGC 50035) is a magnitude +13.1 spiral galaxy located 273 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 25th April 1883.
