NGC 5414 (also RAS 13595+1010, MCG 2-36-13, UGC 8942 and PGC 49976) is a magnitude +12.4 peculiar galaxy located 196 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 25th April 1883.
