NGC 4998 (also IRAS 13062+5054, MCG 9-22-17 and PGC 45537) is a magnitude +14.5 face-on spiral galaxy located 410 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 26th April 1789.
