NGC 3717 (also IRAS 11290-3001, MCG -5-27-15, UGCA 238 and PGC 35539) is a magnitude +11.2 spiral galaxy located 80 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 29th April 1834.
