NGC 5700 (also MCG 8-27-7, UGC 9423 and PGC 52237) is a magnitude +14.5 barred spiral galaxy located 99 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by Anglo-Irish astronomer Lawrence Parsons, 4th Earl of Rosse using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) reflector at Birr castle on the 4th May 1877.
