NGC 5119 (also MCG -2-34-42 and PGC 46826) is a magnitude +13.0 spiral galaxy located 134 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 6th May 1836.
