NGC 3844 (also MCG 3-30-69, UGC 6705 and PGC 36481) is a magnitude +13.9 lenticular galaxy located 311 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 8th May 1864.
