NGC 3816 (also MCG 3-30-46, UGC 6656 and PGC 36292) is a magnitude +12.5 spiral galaxy located 265 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 9th May 1864.
