NGC 4817 (also PGC 83663) is a magnitude +14.7 compact galaxy located 306 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan using a 30.48 cm (12 inch) refractor at the Paris Observatory on the 11th May 1885.
