NGC 3959 (also MCG -1-30-46 and PGC 37363) is a magnitude +13.7 barred spiral galaxy located 263 million light-years away in the constellation Crater.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 19th May 1881.
