NGC 5659 (also MCG 4-34-44, UGC 9342 and PGC 51875) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 206 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 22nd May 1830.
