NGC 6445 (also Little Gem nebula, Crescent Nebula, PK8+3.1 and ESO 589-PN9) is a magnitude +11.2 planetary nebula located 4,500 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius.
The nebula was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 28th May 1786.
