NGC 6234 (also MCG 1-43-7 and PGC 59144) is a magnitude +14.4 elliptical galaxy located 438 million light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 17th June 1863.
