NGC 6220 (also UGC 10541 and PGC 58979) is a magnitude +13.7 spiral galaxy located 317 million light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 19th June 1887.
