NGC 6003 (also MCG 3-40-48, UGC 10048 and PGC 56130) is a magnitude +13.4 spiral galaxy located 181 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 19th June 1879.
