NGC 5824 (also NGC 5834, ESO 387-SC1 and GCL 31) is a magnitude +9.09 globular star cluster located in the constellation Lupus. The cluster was discovered by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop using a homemade 9-foot 22.86 cm (9 inch) f/12 speculum Newtonian reflector at Paramatta, New South Wales, Australia, on the 14th May 1826. The globular cluster was discovered by John Herschel in June 1886 and relisted as NGC 5834.
