NGC 6909 (also ESO 285-12 and PGC 64725) is a magnitude +11.7 elliptical galaxy located 128 million light-years away away in the constellation Telescopium.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 1st July 1834.
