NGC 6697 (also MCG 4-44-14, UGC 11349 and PGC 62354) is a magnitude +12.7 elliptical galaxy located 215 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 2nd July 1864.
