NGC 6870 (also ESO 233-41, IRAS 20065-4826 and PGC 64197) is a magnitude +12.3 spiral galaxy located 136 million light-years away in the constellation Telescopium.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 7th July 1834.
