NGC 6716 (also Collinder 393, ESO 592-SC5 and OCL 46) is a magnitude +7.5 open star cluster located 2,573 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius.
The cluster was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 14th July 1830.
