NGC 6938 is a group of stars located in the constellation Vulpecula.
The stellar grouping was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Datchet, England on the 18th July 1784.
