NGC 6525 (also GC4362) is an open star cluster, or asterism, located ~4680 light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus.
The cluster was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Slough, England, on the 29th July 1829.
