NGC 6755 (also Collinder 397 and OCL 96) is a magnitude +7.5 open star cluster located 4,635 light-years away in the constellation Aquila. The cluster lies less that 1° from NGC 6756 and contains about 100 member stars, with the brightest at magnitude +10.2
The cluster was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clay Hall Farm, old Windsor, Berkshire, on the 30th July 1785.
