NGC 5872 (also MCG -2-39-5 and PGC 54169) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 344 million light-years away in the constellation Libra.

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Joseph Winlock using a 38.1 cm (15-inch) refracting telescope at the Harvard College Observatory on the 30th July 1867.
