NGC 1560 (also MCG 12-5-5, UGC 3060 and PGC 15488) is a magnitude +11.4 edge-on spiral galaxy located approximately 12 million light-years away with the IC 342/Maffei Group in the constellation Camelopardalis.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refracting telescope at the Arcetri Observatory on the 1st August 1883.
