Only a few Glorieta Mountain meteorites have been found that are both large enough to slice and are 100% pallasite. Read more
There are two types of Glorieta meteorites; "Pallasites", which have yellow-green olivine crystals embedded in the iron-nickel metal, and then the "Siderites" which do not have olivine crystals. Read more
The Glorieta Mountain (Pallasite) meteorite was discovered in New Mexico, USA on the 9th August 1884. A total mass of 148 kg was recovered.
