NGC 2551 (also MCG 12-8-38, UGC 4362 and PGC 23608) is a magnitude +12.1 spiral galaxy located 108 million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 9th August 1882.
