NGC 2591 (also IRAS 08307+7811, MCG 13-7-1, UGC 4472 and PGC 24231) is a magnitude +12.2 spiral galaxy located 61 million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 12th August 1866.
