NGC 2 (also MCG 4-1-26, UGC 59 and PGC 567) is a magnitude +14.2 inclined spiral galaxy located 316 ±36 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
The galaxy was discovered by Irish astronomer Lawrence Parsons, 4th Earl of Rosse, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 20th August 1873.
