NGC 6689 (also NGC 6690, IRAS 18354+7028, MCG 12-17-26, UGC 11300 and PGC 62077) is a magnitude +12.5 spiral galaxy located 22 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 22nd August 1863. The galaxy was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in August 1864 and relisted as NGC 6690
