NGC 6941 (also IRAS 20337-0447, MCG -1-52-10 and PGC 65054) is a magnitude +12.8 barred spiral galaxy located 286 million light-years away in the constellation Aquila.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Truman Henry Safford using a 46.99 cm (18.5-inch) refractor at the Dearborn Observatory, Chicago, on the 29th August 1867. The galaxy was rediscovered by Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5-inch) reflector on the 1st September 1872.
