NGC 7421 (also ESO 346-17, IRAS 22541-3736, MCG -6-50-15 and PGC 70083) is a magnitude +11.9 barred spiral galaxy located 83 million light-years away in the constellation Grus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 30th August 1834.
