NGC 816 (also PGC 8152) is a magnitude +14.3 compact galaxy located 508 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflecting telescope at the Marseille Observatory on the 15th September 1871.
