NGC 1184 (also IRAS 03088+8035, MCG 13-3-2, UGC 2583 and PGC 12174) is a magnitude +12.4 edge-on spiral galaxy located 108 million light-years away in the constellation Cepheus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road in Slough, Berkshire, on the 16th September 1787.
