NGC 717 (also MCG 6-5-41, UGC 1363 and PGC 7033) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 228 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 16th September 1865.
