NGC 1050 (also IRAS 02395+3433, MCG 6-6-78, UGC 2178 and PGC 10257) is a magnitude +12.6 lenticular galaxy located 179 million light-years away in the constellation Perseus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 17th September 1865.
