NGC 861 (also IRAS 02128+3540, MCG 6-6-3, UGC 1737 and PGC 8652) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 377 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 18th September 1865.
