NGC 819 (also IRAS 02056+2859, UGC 1632 and PGC 8174) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 302 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 20th September 1865.
