NGC 7098 (also ESO 48-5, IRAS 21393-7520 and PGC 67266) is a magnitude +11.3 barred spiral galaxy located 109 million light-years away in the constellation Octans.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Wynberg in Cape Town on the 22nd September 1835.
