NGC 7679 (also Arp 216, IRAS 23262+0314, MCG 0-59-46, UGC 12618 and PGC 71554) is a magnitude +12.9 barred spiral galaxy (also a Seyfert galaxy) located 236 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 23rd September 1864.
