NGC 829 (also IRAS 02062-0801, MCG -1-6-49 and PGC 8182) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 186 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 23rd September 1865.
