NGC 525 (also MCG 1-4-54, UGC 972 and PGC 5232) is a magnitude +13.3 spiral galaxy located 75 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 25th September 1862.
