NGC 502 (also MCG 1-4-43, UGC 922 and PGC 5034) is a magnitude +12.8 face-on spiral galaxy located 114 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 25th September 1862.
